For anyone who grew up in the early 90’s and are even slightly into horror (which I assume you would be, seeing as how you’re on HorrorFictionBlog), then you remember Tale From The Crypt. The spooky show was the precursor to creepypasta and gave us short spurts of terror, hosted by the legendary Crypt Keeper.

Well, it’s back, everyone!

TNT is producing and broadcasting the series, directed by M. Night Shyamalan, and if this turns out to be anything like Mr. Shyamalan’s latest works (The Visit and Split), then we are in for a real treat!

One of the things that draws attention to the series, beyond it’s nostalgia and obvious mark on the horror genre, is the process in which the stories came to be selected. It wasn’t a bunch of LA-type folks sitting in a writer’s room, but rather the folks on Wattpad who write stories for fun and entertainment who got their shot at having a story on the show (as well as a monetary award)!

So if you’re a fan of short and creepy, want to support and see some work of a possibly not-so-mainstream horror writer, or are simply just a 90’s fanboy looking to feel like a kid again, head over to TNT for something we can almost be assured will be wonderful.
